3 Months…..

Hi everyone! Well I'm 3 months old today. I'm 12lbs 7oz with my cast - so that's about 12lbs 3oz or so of just me! As you can see, I'm getting really good at holding up my head and Daddy no longer calls me "spaghetti arms". I've also slept through the night (5.5 - 6.5 hours) 2 nights in a row now. Then, I wake up super happy and kick everyone's day off with lots of smiles and giggles. So everyone here is happy and healthy. Thanks for checking in on me!

This is going to be anticlimactic

Hey everyone

I guess I'm just way ahead of myself on this whole idea of putting video on a blog - it's lucky that I have a really big head, because otherwise, I probably couldn't have figured it out. Anyway - I might have built up some suspense that is just not warranted.

If you click on the picture, or click here you should see about 90 seconds of me playing in my little bouncy-chair. That's all the video there is of me so far - when I do something cute, Mom and Dad are usually too busy looking at me to grab the camcorder.

The Hair? Thanks for noticing. It's reddish-brown, and still pretty thin. Mom swears that my eyes are in the process of turning green, but Dad's not seeing it. We'll know before too long.

That's about it for now. Tune in sometime around Friday for the official 3-month-old picture and weight!

Love,
D.

No video yet

Hey folks

So, I know that I promised video on this site, but it hasn't been as easy as it might seem. In theory, the video is available here, but as of right now, it's not working - not sure why. There were many other issues that I don't want to bore you with. "Real soon now" - how does that sound?

There are some fun updates, though - today I spit out my pacifier, picked it up and put it back in my mouth and repeated that trick 4 more times. I'm also grasping my hands and grabbing for other objects. I don't really like rolling over yet, but I can do it if I have to.

I hope everyone is doing well. It's been a while since I heard from some of you. Shoot me a line.

Love, D.

Feelin' hot hot hot

Danielites!

I would have written sooner, but my keyboard melted. OK, not really, but Denver is experiencing an all-time temperature high. It has not been this hot in 127 years (really). So truth be told, I have no excuses.

The cast, yes, well - it's white. Secretly I was hoping that they'd just say "Oh, look - I think you're done" but they didn't do that. I have to wear this lump for another 2 weeks. BUT, on August 2, I get my long-awaited x-ray and they'll tell me what's next. There could be some minor surgery to lengthen my achilles tendon - there's no way to know until we see the x-ray.

There has been a confirmed sighting of me turning over onto my back, and I'm growing out of my 0-3 month clothes, so there are some changes going on around here.

A big shout-out to Zoe Hekneby who was born this morning at 3am. She looks like she's going to be cute. Can I call "dibs"? 8lbs 12 oz? I was six weeks old before I weighed that much! Looking forward to meeting you in person - come on over to my crib, baby!

Once Dad figures out how to use his new camcorder, there will be video here. Stay tuned.

Until next time.

The Pastas are here!

Barbara and Dave have been keeping me entertained all weekend long. Especially Dave, who sat and made funny faces at me all the way up the mountains and back. Yay, Pastas! We played disc golf with me on Mom's chest. That didn't work so well, so we sat out the last 16-or-so holes.

I have a new skill - I rolled over from my stomache to my back yesterday. Dad's the only person that saw me do it, so we need another confirmed sighting, but it happened - it really did. I don't really like being on my stomache, so I guess I might have been a little mad at the time. Oh well - it's progress. I also know how to grab my un-cast foot.

Tuesday I get a new cast after keeping this blue one for 2 weeks. Ought to be fun.

That's about all to report from here. Hope everyone is doing well.

Until next time, D.

Balloons!

Hey guys!

Mom came up with a fun game to help improve my motor skills. She tied a balloon to my hand so that I could see a big effect when I waved it. That was fun.

I'm stuffing all of my fingers in my mouth now, and this morning, I grabbed my own foot. Talk about progress! I'm also doing crunches all day long, so I'll have abs of steel when I grow up.

I'm off the tea, and there's something else new too -> I'm still wearing last week's cast. That's right - remember how I said that we'd see if I could keep it for 2 weeks? So far, so good.

I'm smiling a lot now, and gurgling up a storm. I still don't like tummy-time all that much, but my arms and back are clearly getting stronger. The pasta's are off camping in the mountains, and tomorrow I go to a BBQ.

That's about all for now. Hope everyone is doing great.

Love, D.

Sleeping in on a Saturday...

Good Morning! So sleepy. The Pasta's are visiting from Houston, and they're total night-owls. So I'm sleeping in this morning. Big Yawn.

Can you believe that I'm more than 10 weeks old now? Time just flies. Earlier this week, baby Harrison was born, and I went to the hospital to see him. 6lbs 12oz -> but boy, did he look tiny compared to me! That really helped Dad realize how much I've grown. No official weighing lately, but I'd be surprised if it's much different than 11lbs.

My cough is almost gone, so I'm feeling a lot better.

There are about 45 new pictures in imagestation album #4. You should check them out when you get a chance. Nothing you haven't seen before, but just more of it.

That's about it for now. I'm going to continue my lazy weekend. Hope everyone is having a good day!

Until next time,
D.

It's new-cast day again!

Truth be told, I'm just using the new cast thing as an excuse to post something again. But, for the record - it's Blue. We're getting towards the end of these casts, and the nice folks at Children's have asked me to see it I can wear this one for 2 weeks instead of one. We'll see - the last one chafed my knee a bit.

I have my first chest cold - when I cough, I sound like I've been smoking for 50 years. Nothing to be done about it except wait it out. Called the Dr. on Monday to make sure that the parent's shouldn't be doing anything else, and he said "hide the cigarettes". Such a comedian. I'm pretty impressed that he called me back on July 4. Yay, Dr. Rich!

So, what did I do on the 4th? Not a lot, really. I went for a walk in my stroller, chilled with a bottle of 2005 Enfamil, and then we went to see fireworks with Doug, Meg and Ethan. Turns out I'm not really into the whole fireworks thing yet - I fell asleep.

Swing, Swing, Swing...

Ethan has generously lent me his swing, and this thing is most excellent. It swings in multiple directions, has a psychedelic lamp and flying fish. Who are the mad scientists at Fisher-Price, and what is their obsession with fish? Still, the parents are amused.

I had a little bit of a fever after my shots, and combined with the heatwave here in Denver, I was sluggish for a day or two, but my appetite is back now. We went over to the local arts festival, and I was a huge hit with the crowd. They all wanted to know where my "other sock" was - silly adults - haven't they ever seen a kid with a cast before?

My hair is growing in, my eyelashes are fully formed, but still no eyebrows. The parents now believe that my acne came from the moisturizing lotion I got after baths. Since the lotion went away, so did the zits, and I'm cleaning up nicely. My back, legs and neck muscles are really strong - going to work on my arms which are a bit puny.

Have a great July 4th weekend.

Love, D.
