11 months and counting....

Howdy, Folks!

It's a milestone of sorts - 11 months today! Not nearly as exciting as my first birthday, of course - but worth celebrating with a post nonetheless.

I've been pulling myself up on mom and dad for a while, but haven't really trusted "objects" until recently. I can now climb a diaper box and other things to standing. And if I have something to support me, I can walk all over the place. Here's me in the back yard with my little red wagon....

Everyone still has a bit of a cold going on. Mine is down to just a cough, really. Grandpa's got serious, but I hear he's doing better. I was well enough to go to my swim lessons yesterday, but the Y is closed for spring break. What's up with that?

Not much news from Denver, in other words.

Until next time,
Love D.

March Madness comes to Denver

Howdy everyone. It's been basketball central around here lately, and as you can see, I've been getting into the spirit. Grandpa went to Xavier, so I was dressed up as a musketeer for their big game, but they were robbed by Gonzaga. Oh well.

While farmor and Grandpa have been here, there have been a lot of "firsts". I had my first haircut, ate my first chocolate chip cookie and gobbled down some asparagus. I've also learned how to wave "bye-bye".

Unfortunately, we all have colds now. Runny noses all over the place. There's a lot of sniffling and coughing going on. I'm sure it'll get better, but right now it's not so fun.

Only 4 weeks until my birthday! It's going to be fun...

Until next time,

Love, D.

It's fun to go to the Y-M-C-A....

I've been taking swimming lessons for the last 3 tuesdays, and today Dad was able to sneak out of work early and take some pictures. The pool is fun - a little loud sometimes, and I get cold after a while, but boy-oh-boy is it fun to splash around.

See that? That's me floating on my back. This is apparently an advanced skill for 10-month-olds, but you all knew I'd be up for it, didn't you? I have other advanced moves too....

In other news, I went back to Children's on Monday for a foot check-up. I'm doing just fine, apparently. We all expected that there would be a new cast, but apparently I'm stuck with the current one for a while.

Øystein visited over the weekend. I liked him, he had a fun beard and behaved just as goofy as Dad does. And tomorrow, Grandpa and Farmor show up - I've got a surprise for Grandpa, which we'll have to get a picture of for the next blog entry...

That's about it for now. Hope you're all enjoying Pi-day (3.14.2006 - the editor feels it's necessary to provide a de-geekifier here)

What happened to 10 months?

Hiya folks!

Well, in the confusion of there not being a February 29th, my 10-month celebration came and went without a posting - hope you enjoyed the video instead...

I got this cool shirt from Elizabeth and Tim, who seem to know something about dad that I don't quite get yet. It's not the cutest picture of me, but the editorial staff chose it because it's the first one where you can see just how BIG my upper teeth are.

So, what's new? Well, last week I started my swimming lessons at the local YMCA. I'm not exactly breaking olympic records, but I did really well for it being my first time. Maybe we'll get a picture of me in swimming trunks next week.

Last weekend, we went to play in the local park, and mom took this picture of me crawling through a tube. My favorite part is the reflection of my head, which makes it EVEN BIGGER than it normally is. Which reminds me to answer a question from an earlier posting: I don't know if I'm going to grow up tall - right now, I'm measuring kind of short, but there no reason I can't have a growth spurt. And the hair - yeah, it's red-ish now.

This week, I also made huge progress with regards to walking. I don't walk on my own yet, but if someone holds my hands, I'll walk forwards. Before this week, I didn't want to lift the foot that I had surgery on, but now I'll keep on walking forward.

I had Mac&Cheese for dinner tonight...

And that's about all that's new around here.

Love, D.
