Before... After.....
A few weeks ago, I posted that Papa had trimmed my hair around my ears. Well, as you can see in the 'Before' picture above, it was time for a 'real' haircut. So Mom took me to see Miss Gabriella yesterday. She let me sit in a golf cart and play with a guitar while she did her thing. I'm not sure it's really very safe or practical to play the guitar while driving a golf cart, but it got the job done. I didn't mind having my haircut at all. Matter of fact, I liked having so many women to flirt with.

Moving on up...
Hey, hey, hey
This weekend, we discovered that I like to climb stairs. Not the ones at home, which are a little too steep, but we went over to visit Ethan and Reid (and their parents), and they have a most excellent staircase.
Not too much else to report, really. I'm pulling myself up on higher things, and with less effort. I now which of my toys is the cow, so mom can say "where's the cow" and I'll go get it if I feel like it. It is possible - but not certain - that I know where my eyes and nose are, and can point at them if asked. I did this for the first time ever in front of Meg, and she was very impressed. Oh, and I now play "peekaboo" all of the time - it's my new favorite game...
I'll be a one-something next time I write. Wonder how different that will be?

Has anyone seen a big, plastic chicken around here?
So we had this "Easter" thing on Sunday, and there were plastic eggs lying around the house. How very, very odd. I'm undecided as to whether I like jelly beans - not so very much is what I'm thinking.
It's actually been a little more exciting around here than we really enjoy. On Sunday, I got a piece of food stuck in my throat. Badly. It's really good that mom knew CPR, 'cause I was getting a little blue. On the positive side, we established that calling 911 works well - they were here inside of 2 minutes of the call. By then I was breathing again, but a little shaken up. I got to ride to Children's in an ambulance, where they declared that I was just fine, and called me cute...
And then, just to top it off, I have some funky throat virus thing that is going around. Fever and it hurts to eat, so I've been cranky and on liquids-only for 2 days. Better now.
Only 11 days left until the big ONE! Guests are coming in from around the country - very excited... I'll probably post once more before then, but I make no promises...
I'm well now, don't worry about me.

An apple a day...
Hey there
It turns out that these "teeth" are good for more than show. I grabbed an apple off the counter today and just chomped my way through it. Good fun.
This week, I've been pulling myself up on higher and higher things, and today I used the couch in the living room to stand up. Woo hoo. I'm also officially "cruising" - e.g. moving from one piece of furniture on my own.
The big news of this week is that I have two "signs" that I do. The first is "light" -> I can see them and comment on the fact that I want the light on. The second is "more" - I can now ask for more food, which is cool. I might be confusing the sign for "More" with the sign for "food", but the end result is the same - I get fed...
It was warm outside yesterday - I got ice cream. I like the cone better, which dad thinks is just wrong.
Until next time.

I have a new toy...
I've gotten too big for my "Baby Bjorn" carrier, which is the one you might remember we went hiking in last fall. Just not comfortable anymore. My new "piggyback" carrier rocks, though. We took it out for a test-hike at Roxborough this weekend. I like being up high. A lot. I can use this until I weigh 45 lbs, but it's not known if Dad will be up for hauling me up mountains then...
Anyhoo - I guess there's not too much news around here. I finally got my sixth tooth, which has been bugging me for weeks.
I have two words now. I've known "ball" for while, and now I'll say "cat" - admittedly it's more like "k-k-k-ka", but you can tell that I mean "cat" - or at least the editorial staff have convinced themselves of this.
Birthday celebration, coming up. Looking forward to it.
Love, D.
