Quick update

Hiya, everyone.

The editorial staff goofed up, and my EEG is actually *next* tuesday. I just wanted to get an update out to all of you because I know you were checking for updates.

Today's appointment was actually with Dr. Benson for my foot. She says I'm doing great, and thinks I'll be walking in 2 weeks. Stay tuned for updates on that front. No new cast, but they did replace the velcro.

We spent the day removing wallpaper at the new house. That was fun.

Moving along

Good evening, friends. This is me, just before I went to sleep this evening. Is there anything better than a good book and a bottle of milk before bed? I'll sit in "my" chair and read on my own. The dog? Glad you asked - he's my new friend. I was starting to wrestle with the cats, and there's just so much of that you can expect them to tolerate. So I got a dog. I think he's related to my cousin Leo's dog.

I now know how to tell mom and dad that I'm ready for bed, too. Yesterday I pointed to the crib and said "Seep?" (sleep) and they got the point.

Grandma "Babe" is visiting. I need to get a picture of us together. She's good fun. I don't know why I can't play with her when she's painting...

Which brings me to my next topic - we just closed on a new house yesterday, so we'll be moving in a couple of weeks. Babe is helping us get the old house ready to sell as well as the new one ready to move into. I guess that little ol' me filled up the old house with "stuff". The new house has more room for my toys, and for friends to visit. It's just a few miles away from our current place.

I had a fever spike last week, and with that another febrile seizure, which brings the total to three. Dr. Rich wasn't overly worried, but he did think it was a good idea to consult with a neurologist, who ordered up some tests for me. The good news is that the results from the CAT scan are in, and I don't have a tumor. Tuesday we have an EEG to check for epilepsy. We don't seriously think that there's anything wrong with me, but would rather know.

And that's about it for now. Everyone keep your fingers crossed for us on Tuesday

Love, D.

Back in the USA

Hey there. I'm back, did you miss me?

I spent the last 10 days or so touring scandinavia, on a nice relaxing vacation. Here's me with the entire Norwegian branch of the family and farmor who's Swedish. From left to right there's my cousin Leo, my uncle Michael, Aunt Sara, cousin Jacob, Grampa, Farmor Dad+me and mom. We spent most of the time at the cabin in Sweden.

Where I spent most of the time as a beach bum. For those of us under 2, this was a clothing-optional beach, but I tried that and an ant bit my behind. Plus, this is a G-rated blog, so we'll keep the pictures decent.

I picked up a lot of new words on this trip. "Beh-eeze" (berries) is one of the most useful ones, and I ate a lot of them. Also "up", "Wahk" (walk), "rock", "off"and "buht" (boat). I got really good at recognizing the entire class of boats, from rowboats to ferries and calling them all "buht".

Cousins are fun, and even though they're older than me, we still had a lot of fun playing with cars and on the beach. Here we're all getting ready for bed by brushing our teeth.

OK, that's about it for now. I'll be staying put here in Denver for the next three weeks before we close out the summer travel season at Gun and Martin's wedding in San Francisco. I'm a good traveler, I am....

Danielpalooza in California

I went to Jan Robert and Lia's wedding in San Diego last weekend, and it was a blast. In case you weren't aware, seersucker is coming back. As a single, eligible guy I got to go to the bachelor party on Thursday. There are no pictures of that to protect the guilty.

We got to do some sightseeing around San Diego, and this is me with the goats at the Wildlife experience. I also really liked the zoo and hanging out at the hotel pool.

But my favorite tourist attraction was the USS Midway, where I got my own audio tour just like mom and dad, and got to practice driving F14s around the flight deck.

Zoe was at the wedding, and she kissed me, which all the grownups thought was cute.

Oh, I turned 15 months old in the last week, and today I went off to the pediatrician to be poked, prodded and measured. I'm still a short skinny guy with a big head. My weight places me in the 6th percentile, my height at the 40th and noggin is in the 70th percentile. The doctor says not to worry about being thin - that I'm "perfect" and that it beats being overweight.

What else is new? Well, I'm cruising around furniture with a lot more confidence, and I've been pushing my turtle and wagon around. I seem to pick up a couple of new words every day, but when I don't have any adults to impress, I speak my own language that goes something like "blabblelabblelabblenah!"

Later this week, I take the Daniel show to Europe, where we'll be touring major venues in Norway and Sweden, with brief stops in Frankfurt and Amsterdam. I'll be flying in a lay-flat bassinet again, while the parents tough in out in economy class.

That's about it for this time.
