Hey there
I'm 18 months old today. Really. Time flies when you're having fun, doesn't it?
It was a beautiful morning today, so I sat on the deck and ate raspberries. I love berries. Other than that, I've spent the week walking around. I'm still faster at crawling than walking, but everyone gets a kick out of the walking thing, so I bring that on when I want to impress folks.
Last night we went to a haloween party at Dean and Sue's. I was a horse, mom was a cow and dad was a pig. It's probably better that there are no pictures of that. I also went to the zoo, but it was sooo crowded. Tomorrow, I go trick-or-treating at Dad's office - that'll be fun. I have a big plastic pun-kin! (pumpkin) to collect loot with.
Until next time.
Love, D.

Daniel goes walkabout
Well, we've been waiting for this for some time, haven't we?
C'mon - be honest. You've asked yourself, is this kid ever going to walk? Well, tonight was the night. I've been practicing a bit with mom and dad, but it was always more of a step-step-dive kind of movement to be frank.
I'm almost 18 months old, and fittingly enough, this is my 100th blog posting. It feels good to have something to celebrate. Clicking here or on the picture will get you a video
Today was also the first day that I asked dad for money. You see - I just got this train which doubles as a piggybank, and it plays "I've been working on the Railroad" when you drop a coin in it. Well, I wanted pennies, and Dad wanted me to walk, so he made me walk over to him to get the coins. "Pehnee, Pehnee" (penny).
That's really the big news from here. I went to a hockey game Friday night with Stu and Julie.
That's all for now. I have my 18-month appointment and a visit to Dr. Benson next week.
Later,
D.

Hooray for Snow!!!
There was the cold white stuff all over my deck and yard this morning. I hear it's called snow. It seems a lot like ice to me - cold, wet, and fun. I like the way snow balls feel, but I don't care so much for having my shoes covered in snow. That concerned me a little.
This isn't the right kind of snow for a snowman, but I did make my first snow angel.
Hope everyone has a fun day!

Crazy-time
Hiya, folks! It's been crazy-time around here, and I have so much to tell you.
My verbal skills have really advanced in the last couple of weeks. I have strung two words together "eat eggs" and "Hi Papa", and I have started saying two-syllable words: "punkin" (pumpkin), "sireal" (cereal).
I think my creative side is coming out too. I like nursery rhymes (Pattycake and "row, row, row your boat", "itsy-bitsy spider") and will specifically order the grownups to sing them over and over. I'll even help out a little, but I only know "row, row", not the other words.
I also dance if there are some good tunes being played. Specifically I like "Crocodile Rock". You ask how I Dance if I'm not walking yet? Easy - I just lean forward and support myself with my hands. This deserves a video, but I stop dancing if I see the paparazzi. Also on the creative side, I've decided that my toys get hungry, so I try to feed them. This gets messy if I'm holding a plush dolphin while eating soup!
Grandpa and Farmor are visiting. They're fun. I like showing off my skills, and Grandpa thinks that just about everything I do is funny, so he laughs and that makes me laugh too. All that fun (and some late-night snacks) gets me so wired that I've been staying up late lately. They brought me a couple of new toy caas! (cars) that are my favorites right now.
I'm so close to walking that the adults think it's just a question of distracting me so that I forget to sit down. They've tried suspending my new car in the air just beyond my reach, but I'm not going to be fooled by that trick - I'll walk when I'm ready.
And finally, I got another haircut today - the beach bum look was so "Summer". Which reminds me - it's snowing, so maybe tomorrow I get to play in the snow.
Until next time.

Berries, Berries, Berries
Hi there
We couldn't get this uploaded last night, but here's the 28-second video of me having fun in the strawberry patch in the back of the yard.

Still unpacking
Hey there, everyone
I have a lot of guilt for not posting more often. What's up with this biweekly schedule, and then to not even have good pictures? I hope to be back on track soon. Anyway - if you're wondering what I'm doing above, I'm hanging out on a giant egg. Cherry creek mall has this play area where I can climb on sausages, bounce on an egg and generally have a fun time. Love it!
I have a new bed. I now sleep on a big-boy mattress. This is a good thing. Only problem is that the rails don't go all the way around the bed, so I can get out in the middle of the night.
The new house is a good thing. There's a little pool in the back that I throw rocks in, and a strawberry patch where I sit and chomp on the berries. Lots of things to discover. I'll post some video and pictures when I get a chance.
I have some new words. I say "moon" and "rab" (rabbit) and right now I can't decide if my favorite mode of transportation is "bike", "bus", "caas" (cars), "cuck" (truck), tain (trains) or pain (planes). If I see any of these while I'm out and about I tell everyone about them. There are actually starting to be quite a few words that mom and dad understand, though it takes guests a little while to figure me out.
I've gotten a little more shy around strangers, and have started to screetch at the clerks in stores. Not sure why I do that - it's not my normal charming way of behaving.
Speaking of guests, Dave and Barbara are visiting for the annual "great american beer festival". If I can find a camera, I'll post pictures.
OK, enough text for now. Hope everyone is well.
Love, D.
