Some art, a bike ride and not much else

Howdy friends.

It seems that we’ve been somewhat delinquent about taking the cameras out with us lately, and as a result, we’re a bit low on pictures from the last couple of weeks.

Rachel outgrew her bike – or at least she got close enough to doing so that it was time to get her a new one.  So she now has pretty much the same wheels as Daniel does, and the larger size has her strong little legs just FLYING forward.  We took a bike trip yesterday that ended up being 16 miles.  OK, so most of that was flat-or-downhill, and we took the lightrail back from University station, but still –> excellent performance all around.

Swim lessons have  started again.  Rachel has “Mark” and is in the truly deep end of the pool for the first time.  Daniel has his favorite –> JohnO, and is doing quite well – the teachers over at Aquakickz do an amazing job.

Fall festival should have been this last weekend, but it got rained out, so we had a playdate at our place instead.

On Mondays, both Daniel and Rachel are in the Art class after school program, and since they’re in the same class, with the same topics/subjects, we get to see comparative art.  Unfortunately all of these were cut off just a little by the scanner, but you get the idea.

We’ve been reading “the hobbit” at bedtime, and that’s been very popular, though it’s not exactly kid-friendly language, they’ve really been into it.  Rachel was the first in her class to meet her library reading challenge (1200 pages of which 500 had to be non-fiction) and got to “Spin the pig” at the library – a goofy tradition by the librarian, but one that the kids really seem to enjoy.

And that’s about it for this time around.

Love, ADRE.
